Career Development
Academic Advising
Welcome to your journey of self-discovery and career development! My passion as an educational counselor is to help you uncover your unique talents and interests, creating a personalized plan for your future. With the right tools and guidance, you can align your natural abilities with the career paths that resonate with you, whether through trade programs or traditional college routes. Let's work to manifest your ideal career path and achieve the success you deserve!
Secondary & Post- Secondary Planning
Unlock the potential of your high school years! With the exciting Career Technical Education Pathways available, students can learn valuable trades while earning college credits. Many students are unaware of these transformative opportunities, but I am here to help you navigate your unique pathway. Together, we can map out the necessary classes to achieve your goals, whether it's obtaining a Certificate of Achievement or preparing for university-level success. Let's make the most of your high school experience! If the goal is to graduate high school and go to a university, planning is also highly necessary to know the A-G requirements colleges are looking for and what it takes to be competitve at the USC level of placement or other prestigious academic institutions. It also helps to know the difference between choosing a UC or a USC or other colleges. I can help you navigate these choices.

College Applications, Start Early, Be Prepared, Get Accepted
Navigating college applications can be a pivotal step towards your dream career. From California State Universities (CSUs) to the prestigious University of California (UC) system, understanding each institution's unique acceptance criteria is essential. Don't overlook community colleges, which offer diverse programs in fields like social work, automotive, and hospitality, providing a valuable foundation for your future. Let's work together to strategize your application and explore the opportunities that align with your goals.

Individual Education Plan, IEP and College 504 Accomodations Advising and Advocacy
An Individual Education Plan for a high school student is there to ensure your son or daughter is providing everything they need to succeed successfully in meeting graduation requirements and have clear intentions for their post-secondary years. Too often, I have seen far too many students not have these needs met to satisfaction and/or success. You are entitled to take an advocate to any IEP meeting for your student, and you are also entitled to regular meetings regarding the academic and social emotional progress your student is making. At the college level 504's are the protection students are ensured if they possess a learning disability. Again, far too many students are not accessing these resources and may be experiencing frustration in the learning enviornment, knowing how to connect to the resources available to you can make all the difference. I help students know how to advocate for these resources and gain access to them.

At the heart of academic advising lies the mission to transform each student's educational journey into a meaningful experience. While some find joy and success in school, others may feel overwhelmed by stress and monotony. Recognizing that every individual is unique, I strive to help students discover goals that resonate with their personal values. When students connect with a purpose, school evolves from a mere obligation into a powerful vehicle for a brighter future.
Community College Pathways to Bright Futures
Financial Aid, Cal Grants, Scholarships, & Loans
Community colleges across the nation have undergone remarkable transformations over the past few decades. Today, students and adults alike are discovering new pathways to careers that can be achieved in a short time frame, providing lifelong benefits. With opportunities that are easily attainable and often come with little or no debt, community colleges are paving the way for brighter futures for many. For those students wanting to transfer to four-year universities preference is given to students who have completed the necessary transfer courses at the community college level. Embrace the possibilities that await you in this evolving educational landscape!
Embarking on your educational journey shouldn't be a financial burden. With resources like the FAFSA, Cal Grant, work study, low-interest student loans and various scholarships, college is more accessible than ever. I specialize in guiding students through the maze of financial aid options, ensuring that you understand the application process and deadlines. Let’s work together to secure the funding you need to achieve your academic and career.

High school career technical education, CTE's
High School Career Technical Education Pathways, CTE's, are an amazing investment in high school students by the states community colleges. High School students today can earn college credits toward a career in technical education, which means, a trade or a pathway to a professional career that requires an Associates degree or a Bachelor's degree. These pathways are still in development and schools are still in the process of learning how to best implement the CTE pathways to high school students, I help students manuver these opportunities successfully. We begin by identifying careers that are uniquesly suited to your natural interests, talents, experience, and skills.
